SBSH Special

Thank you for visiting SBSH Special

CIMG2368 The developers of our PocketWeather software, Adrian & Jenny Oliver, have been based in Thailand working with a large children's home in the Northern village of Hoay Maw. This year, SBSH invite you to help do something special for these children.

Because we are supporting ourselves by working as software developers, 100% of the money from donations that reaches us in Thailand (after handling and conversion fees) will go directly to the children at Hoay Maw.

From simple gifts to essential school supplies or to enhance the care of the children and ongoing development of self-sufficiency projects - give a special gift to the children at Hoay Maw.

Thank you!

Adrian and Jenny would like to say a big thank you to SBSH friends who have encouraged and supported us in the work at Hoay Maw.

We appreciate you as part of the team!

Have a great 2009!

Warm Clothes (Difficult to Import)

Even though Thailand is thought of as a very hot country, it gets quite cool in the winter and up in the mountains it is already getting very cold. Without heating, the children are shivering at night.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult to import goods into Thailand, even for charitable purposes, because of the customs. In the past we have tried to bring donated second hand clothes into Thailand but were unable to which was a great disappointment. It's also quite expensive to post goods, whereas clothes and textiles are very good value here in Thailand and this can help the local economy as well.

With the recent cold snap, we will be heading North on Monday to purchase warm blankets which will be an early Christmas present. Some funding will be given from the Norwegian Charity Open Hands.

If anyone would like to further contribute towards the cost of good quality, warm blankets for each child this would be most welcome. (About £6, $12 each).

We would also like to buy some warm socks for the children to sleep in as well as school socks.

Thank you for thinking of the children - it means a lot when people are willing to give their time and skills to help.

Donations

I don't have money to donate, but I do have yarn and I knit and crochet. Do the children have any need for this type of donation? Thanks.
